Might I suggest another 3rd party N64 controller? These ones are actually really good:

you might be better off checking ebay for the hori mini controller, depending on what color you want I see them for $50-$65 quite often on ebay.

Good luck with finding one of those, they are great but very very expensive as of lately!

I've bought a lot of things from this eBay seller in Japan. He ships all over the world and has top quality stuff, and ships very fast.

Just a heads up on the price...

I used to sell these in the $30-40 range, plus shipping, from Japan. Because of the exchange rates, I'd probably charge $40+ plus shipping now. I was one of the cheaper ones!!!!

Make friends with someone located in Japan who is into retro gaming.

Probably would have cost $40 or more just to have one shipped to the UK.

Also, it's ironic that you don't like the GameCube like analog replacements for N64 because they are the reason that I sold my HORI Controllers. I got great sources saying that these replacements sticks are not only better than the original stick but that you could swear that you're playing with a GameCube controller. But then again, perhaps we're not talking about the same replacement sticks, the ones I bought are worth $10 each.

FYI, the Hori controllers are not 3rd party. They are officially licensed. That would make them 2nd party.

Which joystick replacements did you get? I would love to use a joystick especially if it's that high quality.
