I can't believe that MKII has no low punch on Genesis. It might be a Nomad glitch, but I'm too lazy too hook up my Genesis to find out.

Before you start playing go to the options menu, change your controller to the 6-button. =)

Actually, I did that. 6-buttons all being used...except there's still no low punch when you crouch. WTF?

the german pal version has a low punch when you pull a and b button together at the same time you cah also switch to the six button controller and you have a single button for low punch.

the 32x version of mt 2 is the bet better than the saturn version !

very nice is the mortal kombat intro on the mega cd i love it !

Note ; in german the mortal kombat 1 is cut !
    you have no fatalitys so
kano dont pull a heart out ;he takes an apple from his opponent :-)

Strange how the censorship review board deemed the pilfering of secret apples from an opponent's rib cage hideaway any less morally twisted than ripping the heart from their chest.

I was wondering, what are the primary differences between Mortal Kombat III and Ultimate Mortal Kombat III? Anything major beside the new/replaced characters?

New menu's, and looks like some of the levels may have been changed.

I don't like MK1-3, I found the controls pretty bad and the matches were usually determined by who knew the most cheap special moves.

I've been playing quite a bit of MKII lately, both for SNES and Genesis, and overall I actually prefer the SNES pad for the game. Using the shoulder buttons for blocking feels far more natural to me, and the cross d-pad makes a number of fatalities easier to pull off due to the need for accurate direction taps.

..Mind you, the 6-button Genesis pad still absolutely rocks for SFII. Street Fighter II Turbo is awesome and all, but shit, those shoulder buttons really hurt the experience.

I've always believed that the SNES had the better controller for MK. It's damned obvious. Yet mags like GF used to act as if it was the SNES pad that "took some getting used to". Bullshit.

The SNES version of MKII kicks the shit out of the Genny version.

The SNES version of MKII kicks the shit out of the Genny version. I don't know how anybody could find a lack of low punch to be okay, yet this wasn't mentioned in most of the mags -- including GF (how shocking).
