    Megadrive Devastator

Wolf Team should be sued for false representation. Devastator may look like a great action title featuring a massive robot, but in reality it’s just a mediocre action title with repetitive gameplay. Aside from a few sparse effects, virtually all the power of the Sega CD goes to cut scenes and music, as the gameplay itself is nothing a cart couldn’t handle. Read the full review for all the details.

Never heard of this one. The graphics look worse than some of Wolf Team's own normal genesis titles though.

The apparent lack of Constructicons makes me angry.

Have you looked through the review archives? This site has been around for a while... most of the good games have been reviewed already!

This isn't a good game by any stretch of imagination.
Vote for a new Mega Drive/Genesis game here:

    It certainly is playable.

Maybe you guys are assuming things based on the first game?

I had fun trying to beat it when I got my copy.

    7/10 from my side.

Most of the games reviewed since March received scores of 5/10, which is not crappy but merely average. My last review in March was for Arcus 1-2-3, which got a 9/10. Reviews are randomly received and done, so sometimes there's a stretch of good ones, sometimes bad. There are still plenty of good games to review for both the Genesis and Sega CD.

Eh, Devastator is a good game. It may not be a great game, but it is a good game. It's challenging, classic action-shooter fun. I'd give it an 8/10.

I'm sure I must have asked this question before but are Japanese MEGA CD games compatible with the North American SEGA CD? Put another way, can I play a Japanese MEGA CD game on my North American SEGA CD? There are quite a number of MEGA CD games that I've longed to purchase but the possibility of region lockout has always been a concern of mine.

The Sega CD itself locks out all out-of-region games, so you'll need a flashcart with a replacement BIOS to get around it. That works very well for some games (I've had success with Anet Futatabi and Earnest Evans), but others have additional lockout routines in the game itself -- I think Sengoku Denshou/Densyo is one. To get past those, you'd need to either use a hacked, burned copy of the game, or have your Genesis and Sega CD region-modded.

I would be venturing into new territory if I decided to use a flash cart. If I understand correctly, I could use a Everdrive flash cart with the SEGA CD Bios preloaded in order to load a Japanese MEGA CD game. Neat! As a follow up question, is there a forum thread or web site that lists all known MEGA CD games where this fix works?
