I think the same case could be leveled at the cutscenes in Silpheed, and the levels that are solid flat colored polygons are artifact free as well. It is only the more shaded background elements that show artifacts at all.
I would like to know if there is any evidence of either of these Sega CD games rendering 3D, or streaming pre-rendered 3D. I can't see any other way some of these scenes could have been created.
