No, a cool dad would have bought a brand new one. I would say a dad who stops to pick up discarded crap from the side of the road rates between "mediocre" and "good", even if that disregarded crap is a Sonic the Hedgehog cuddly toy - not to disrespect the father of the original poster, whom I have forgotten during my scrolling down of this thread.
