I got a CIB copy on eBay a few years ago for ~$30. My advice would be to keep your eyes peeled for auctions, you'll get a much better price that way.

I really miss the days when most games on eBay were being sold in auctions. Seems like now it's 90% ridiculously overpriced Buy-It-Nows.

I've only ever seen the PS1 versions in the wild, in my town both Lunars go for $59.99 a pop, in Texas I saw Silver Star Story sell for $49.99.

I thought deeply about them, but that's too much to spend on just 2 games.

Game Gavel is out there, but the auctions on that site seem to base their pricing on ebay BIN rates.

That's what happens now that video games are more accepted and people keep thinking that just because it is old it HAS to be worth something. Both Lunar Games were great on the Sega CD, but they were not exactly limited print items or anything.

Lunar 2 had a relatively low production run on the Sega CD, which no doubt increased the price, but it's not exactly "rare" by any means - expect to pay nothing less than 50.00 for a boxed copy if you're lucky. Lunar 1, however is one of the more common Working Designs titles for the system, and can be had for around 30.00 like others have said. You just need to keep your eyes peeled and have the cash on hand to jump on a good auction. FWIW, I own both and have beaten them each a few times - they're worth every penny.

Sega CD Lunar 2 should be $50 in good condition. I wouldn't pay more. Lunar:TSS should be $30-50 ($50 is really pushing it).

I agree with all the number here for the most part.
Lunar: TSS should be about $30-$50, but can be more depending on the variant and if someone is collecting variants at that point.
Eternal Blue I'd put in the $40-60 range, just because it's a bit more uncommon.

In general the versions of Lunar:TSS are worth more if they are the versions with the foiled manuals, the ones printed without foiling are quite abundant.

That's if you find someone willing to pay fair market value for the game. I can almost guarantee you won't see that on eBay unless its disc only. Hell, even trading sites like this one price it up quite a bit whenever one does pop up.

If you wait long enough, that will be the price to buy at.

Very true words, patience is the key with everything. That's how I got my minty 7th disc variant at $25 shipped about a year ago.

I have yet to pick up any Lunar for SCD or even Playstation. I did buy it for PSP but I am not into the story as I thought I would be maybe ill give it a try again. Is the booklet and stuff really worth having or disc only be okay?
