I already have my genesis hooked up to my tv via RF. Does the 32X hook up the same way?

It does, I just wouldn't recommend it.
What model Genesis do you have?

This video will pretty much explain how to set up a 32X

If your Genesis is a Model 2 you are good to go, you'll just have to hook your RF switch to the 32X instead. If you have a Model 1 Genesis, you will need to get a Model 2 RF switch since the Model 1 switch isn't compatible.
However, I would seriously recommend using composite.

The sega RF switch I have just slides on instead of screws on, so it isn't a hassle. I still use RCA for better quality though.
I stopped using RF because it reached a point where the RF adapter was completely unreliable. For the longest time I thought my Genesis was dying or something was wrong with it, when instead games weren't booting because the RF adapter was going bad.
RF is fine, I have the Sega Brand
I haven't seen any brand RF adapter for any console that didn't put crazy waves all over the screen on any television. Composite at a minimum is my rule of thumb.
Never had any problem with RF. That's all my TV supports, so I'm okay with it. ^^
Is $30 a good price for a 32x?

I have a Model 1 Genesis and if I use my composite cable with it I get terrible thick vertical bars in the picture. With my RF I get a really clean picture. Strange I know![]()
$30 seems to be a decent price. Just be sure you have all the proper cables that comes with it. If not, try to talk the person down to like $15 and buy the cables online.
if you must use RF, then get one of those little RF/Coax adapters and a use a single RCA cable to connect them. Using the old RF cables is going to look terrible. On the old systems, the video difference is minimal, the loss is really in the stereo vs. mono sound.
