Dude. Once again, WTF? Go back and read how this all got started. It's your obnoxious thread picking idiocy that started this. You're the one that called me-out specifically to attack and ridicule me. I personally just went back there and noticed you must be extremely butt-hurt about something in these here forums to take offense in something that wasn't even aimed at you in the first place. You've done this before and you got banned for it. Don't you learn from your mistakes dude?

You're completely right. Thanks to my help he was able to get rid of all 4 trojans (most probably the cause of the problem) as well as 724 other threats.

I misspoke once. Right after both of you started eating crap about doing a system restore (which wasn't what I was trying to recommend in the first place). Oh wow, you both caught me on repeating your own words by mistake. Like I said. Go pick a fight somewhere else.

At the risk of getting quoted again by another obnoxious thread picker, when the hell did I "call the disk memory"?

And what disk are you talking about? Be specific dude. You can't call me out on the specifics on terminology and be all general (rhetorical question, btw).

Wow, just skimming over this thread makes me realize how little I know about computers.

But QuickSciFi's advice sounded pretty solid, so I've downloaded those programs and am running them now. Couldn't hurt, right?

And what's up with this Olls/Kamahl vs QuickSciFi thing? All three of you guys are cool, so lay off each other. The war's out there, fellas!

You didn't, the OP did. And everyone though he had some program eating his RAM. Gee, I wonder why?
Having to deal with people who call stuff by the wrong name gets annoying fast.

It's understandable the need to be in denial here. But I've been in this position way too many times. Just do a complete system restore and be done with it.

I wasn't talking about restoring to an earlier time as he was trying to do. You guys know exactly what I was talking about, but you decided to go around the subject. Complete (destructive) system recovery, reformatting computer. Name it what you will. That's what I've been suggesting from the beginning. It's just a suggestion, you don't have to be butthurt about it, no offense.

There, this whole stupid war explained:
QuiSciFi used a wrong term, people misunderstood what he meant, and then he started insulting people.
    The end.

There is a problem with several older proprietary manufacturers using their system recovery disks/partitions in numerous ways. Some, like Dell, will discourage a hard drive formatting and OS reinstall and shelter their users through layers upon layers of nearly useless hardware tests and restore/recovery options that almost never work. Then they label the disk format and reinstall something ambiguous like "destructive" recovery.

One way or the other, proprietary computer owners have become accustomed to the terms recovery and restoration as "fix all" terms. Terms like format, reinstall, or especially operating system are completely alien to most computer users. If I bothered to count how many times somebody handed me a Microsoft O-F-F-I-C-E disk and swore it was the Windows operating system disk that came with the computer, I'd be a dead man. I can also say that no consumer in the last ten years ever bothered to ask when they bought a new computer at any price whether it came with a separate operating system disk, restoration or otherwise. They all just counted on the extremely limited warranty instead.
