    My recommendations....

    Soul Star (3D Shmup/Action)
Stellar Fire (3D Shmupish) (if only for the great music)
Ecco: The Tides of Time (Action/Puzzle)
    The Terminator (Action)
    Shining Force CD (Strategy/RPG)
    Sol-Feace (Shmup)
    Android Assault (Shmup)
    Robo Aleste (Shmup)
    Popful Mail (Platformer/RPGish)
    Final Fight CD (Beat'em Up)
    AH3 Thunderstrike (3D Action)
    Jaguar XJ220 (Racing)
Formula One: Beyond the Limit (Racing)
    Lords of Thunder (Shmup)
    Battlecorps (3D Action)
    Earthworm Jim: Special Edition (Action/Platformer)
Shadow of the Beast II (Action/Platformer/Puzzle)
    Heart of the Alien (Action/Platformer)
    Flink (Platformer)
    Dungeon Explorer (Action)
    Samurai Shodown (Fighting)
    Dark Wizard (Strategy/RPG)
Flashback: The Quest for Identity (Action)
    Silpheed (3D Shmup)

And though I know you don't like the genre, Lunar: The Silver Star and Lunar: Eternal Blue are very good RPGs.

AFAIK Crime Patrol only got a SCD port.

Crime Patrol was ported to Sega CD and 3DO.
Drug Wars was ported only to the 3DO.

Another great game. Significantly improved over the Genesis version and, thank God, with save feature.

Crap, I should have worded my post better. I meant to say that Crime Patrol was the only one in the series to see a Sega CD release.

I thought that you meant that, but I just felt the need to make it clear.

Is Crime Patrol a rare title? I see on Ebay there is one copy at $100!! I didn't see it listed on Amazon; Half.com doesn't have any in stock.

Yes, it's pretty hard to come by and one of the rarer games to locate for the Sega CD. I actually have a copy but haven't gotten a chance to play it yet since it's sealed and I can't bring myself to open it

In the Mad Dog II insert they talk about Crime Patrol, Drug Wars and one final title that looks ridiculous: Space Pirates. Space Pirates is the one that I really want to try because of high amount of sheer insanity in the screenshots, but I'd have to find it on the 3DO.

If you like cheesy FMV goodness, Prize Fighter is a must. The scenes between matches and knockdowns are pretty funny.

Like Goldenband recommended, Tomcat Alley is a pretty good FMV game as well.

I think the Sega CD is highly underrated to be honest, a lot of people just write it off as being a ton of crappy FMV games, but there are a lot of really fun and unique titles on it.
