Eh, it's pretty bland and forgettable. The music's nice, the scrolling can be annoying as hell.
In short: your typical Virgin/Dave Perry game.

There are some things about it that are pretty good, but I hate how it's one of those platformers where you constantly have to jump into the unknown, not knowing if you're going to land in a pit or on solid ground, because you can rarely actually see where you're going. I find that kind of thing completely annoying, and this game's basically that, the game, like a few too many other Genesis platformers (Bubsy...).

I haven't played it since the early 90's, but I remember really liking this game BITD. Well, I also found Taz-Mania tolerable in the early 90's, so I'm not sure what I'd think of it now.....probably better than Taz-Mania.

Terrible game. Controls are bad, scrolling is hectic, graphics are ugly, levels are bland and badly designed and repeat itself over and over again. It's a cheap game hacked together in no time only to promote some company's products. The very definition of shovelware.

The one positive thing I remember -aside of the music- would be that little bonus game. I remember having fun for a couple of minutes with that.

I remember the music kind of sucking.

Mediocre game with some nice music on the Genesis/Mega Drive.

The SMS version has awesome music. Genesis one has cool music, but nothing really amazing.
Music is the only thing that really sticks out in this game. Everything else is just mediocre.

I like it. It's a fun little game, not great but decent enough. The review here gave it 7/10, and I'd wholeheartedly agree with that. It would be an 8 if it wasn't for all the blind jumps as mentioned above.

I'm surprised so many people are calling it mediocre. The Genesis excels in 2d action games so standards are going to be high but I would still put it in the good category. The characters are lame and you have to tread carefully to not fall into pits or enemies but the action's solid and the soundtrack's awesome.

There's also a prototype rom of the SNES version on the internet.

Meh. It's ugly, the level design really suffers from a "copy-and-paste" look, too many blind jumps and really uninteresting character and enemy design... it's not terrible, but it's not anything special, either. I think "mediocre" is a fair label for this game.

Taz-Mania is another one of those games with that same "constant leaps of faith in a game with instant death pits" problem. And yeah, I don't like that game at all, and that's a big part of why... it's not the only reason, but it's an important one.

I dislike Taz Mania because of that insane Mine level, where not only are there blind jumps with pits, but there are blind jumps are that so difficult to land that it would be a challenge even if you could see where you're going.

It's a very good game, and I'll still play it from time to time. I do wish the levels were a bit better designed, because they all basically feel the same, just with different sprites to shoot at. I like how the goo shooter knocks you back, but the game never really took advantage of that. I tend to think that not much time was spent on the design being a fast food licensed game, but the talent which built the game went above and beyond what was necessary to ship it.

McRock and the bonus theme are fantastic. Tallarico included them on his Virgin's Greatest Hits CD for good reason. The samples and arrangement really stand out among the Genesis' best. The other songs are OK. "Are are are you ready?"

I haven't played it at all, but the music was pretty great. I'll have to upload my rip of it to YouTube at some point.
