    What games that has button cheats Sonic 2 (SMS/Genesis) or one's only from the Game Genie/PAR like Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES)

    It's kinda funny they don't simply take these out of the game when it's finished.

    Cheat codes were a huge thing during the 90s, so I think a lot of publishers just left them in as a bonus. Also, now that I'm thinking about it, I bet if you were a publisher you could probably drum up new hype for your 5 month old game by "leaking" cheat codes that did all sorts of wacky stuff to the game magazines.
