Blockout: similar games?

This is the only game like it that I've played (as an overhead Tetris-style game). What similar games are better / worse?

The arcade Blockout looks awesome!




So Blockout is one of the first two 3D tetris games, right? Blockout and Welltris both came out in 1989 so they're the first two games like this AFAIK.

I've seen Klax recommended over Blockout but the gameplay looks quite different:








There seem to be many later 3D Tetris-style games, are any of them good?

Geom Cube for Playstation is extremely similar.

There is a sorta-port of Blockout for the PS1 by Technos called Geom Cube. Haven't tried it, though.

And interestingly enough a few years ago EA released a Blockout port on mobile phones... as a Tetris game (it was called Tetris Blockout, I think). No joke.
