Default Does everyone not carry cash anymore ?

I was on another board and I saw quite a few people saying they dont carry cash and I was kinda feeling like an idiot that I still do I guess. I mean to me if I'm buying small items I'd rather pay in cash then with debit or a credit card. I still prefer to carry cash and have a wallet I guess. Im just wondering if a lot of people still do or if I'm in the minority.

I carry cash for small things as well. Also, sometimes you're caught with a small vendor (or at a fair or something) where they don't take cards. I think it's always good to have a little cash on you. Most things I put on a card (which I pay off and also get 1% cash back for, so I get a nice little sum at the end of the year for my trouble).

Cash is best IMHO. You always know how much you have on you, no interest, and no hassle. Just pay it, get change, obtain item/service.

True in many cases, but there is one advantage for credit or credit backed debit cards. If you pay cash for something that you take home and find to be a POS, you are at the mercy of the vendor if you go back and try and get a refund.

At least with credit, if they try and stiff you, you can open up a dispute (even if it's only for a few bucks). You are not guaranteed to get it back, but it's another avenue of addressing the dispute.

Cash here as well. And while I have a credit card, it's mostly for online purchases. It gets paid off to the penny every month. I've never actually carried a balance.

You have to carry around cash in NYC. There are so many bars, places to eat, and services that do not take credit cards here.

    Only small change.
Too much risk involved having large wads of cash on you and no real reason to do that anymore.

I don't carry cash anymore, I like how easy it is to just slip my bankpas through the reader and pin.

Don't have a credit card though, guess its my upbringing but I don't believe in debit cards.

I carry cash with me and don't have a credit card, I can't get another debit card from the bank either since I overdrafted my account 5 years ago when I went on a spending spree for games. I'm a lot more careful with my money these days and always have cash on me in case I need it.

I pay with cash, unless it's a large amount. Honestly, I wish everyone would. I hate waiting in queues for longer just because people insist on paying for every miniscule purchase with their cards

Debit card, I log all purchases and keep recipts ready... I check my statements quite often. I find it instersting my bank is sending me birthday cards with all employee's signatures every year, but my mom's bank is sending her death threats and I make next to nothing littery.

I only carry cash when I know I'm going to buy something, usually I ask and get a good discount by paying with cash.
