Nope. The gold one, which I didn't buy, was $100. And that's JUST the cartridge.Originally Posted by Obviously

$100 for a cart only copy? I just picked up a cart only copy Gold Ocarina of Time at my local game store for about $20.
Yep one is born every day
Customized Sega Genesis Model 1 - VA3
That's about what it costs in Australia to buy cart only. Don't ask about Conkers...... I am going to a retro store tonight, I will have a look at prices.
The OP fails on this. Who goes to a flea market and actually pays the asking price. You need to learn to haggle with sellers! There's hardly any real flea markets around me but when I was a kid around 9yrs old I remember my big first haggle was a nice bicycle (I think it was a huffy) for $10 bucks in great shape! My mom was pissed yet happy at me.
If the sellers don't realize a little less money today is better than potential money weeks/months/years later then screw them as they are morons.
Re-railing the thread.
$30 is something I'd expect from a gaming store run by old guys. Which worked to my advantage when I bought Ikaruga from them for $27. However this was at a fleamarket. This is unacceptable. I mean you could probably go over to some other guy and the price would be more manageable. The most I'd pay for Mario 64 is $10. I got it for $5 and it was worth it. However I do have to say the game is overrated. Simply because its Mario means it's good to the community. However I feel the game was a venture into 3D and was not actually that great. It isn't bad, but I'd rather play the older installments over 64 any day.
This is your money, give me a smoking.
Alright, I split all of the talk about Sonic the Hedgehog into another topic.
Back to discussion about how video games have just gotten too damn expensive!
if they were too expensive people would not be buying them, items are only worth what people are prepared to pay.
Im after a good few games to finish my saturn and MD collection, and they are expensive ones. Especially PAL region as we have it far worse than you NTSC people. It makes me feel good to know if i'm ever really stuck for money i can get shitloads of money for my games, and the price will only go up. My games are my retirement money as the pension system over here is FUCKED!
EDIT - Basically, if you think a game is too expensive, don't buy it. Go get another one and stop moaning

People should just give me all their games. Then they wouldn't have to go through all this expense drama.
