    Default Capacitor Type

So I put together a capacitor list and quantity chart to easily order some new caps for my VA3 Genesis.

But when ordering from Mouser, which type should I be getting?

Also, what kind of operating temperature should I get?

General Purpose or Low Impedance. Latter are more expensive and probably don't come in small capacities.

When ordering, pay attention to physical size, the higher the voltage rating sometimes means a larger size BUT if you can find 220uF in 16V that will fit or is at least is same size as the 6.3V and 10V versions then just replace all of them with 16V caps. It will simplify your order list. And if they are cheaper, you can use higher voltage caps, even 25V, but like i said watch the dimensions, they get taller and fatter as the V rating goes up.
In reality, there shouldn't be too many places in the genny where larger caps are a big concern, plenty of room.
Higher temp ratings means they would last longer, but really the cheap ones are prolly just as good as or better than what's in there now and those lasted 20 years. However, it won't be that much more $ for the few you need to go high temp. Or order the high temp versions only for hotter areas, like under that huge heat sink, or get rid of the heat sink and replace the 7805s with switching regulators. I put up some info about them on my site.
