    Default Spine Cards

I fail to understand the obsession some classic game players have with making sure a Japanese import disc based game includes the spine card. They are nice to have and all, but never a must have for me. So how about you guys, spine card or no spine card.

Spine cards are the one thing I don't mind having in my game, but I'll be damn if my game doesn't have the game itself, manual or box/case.

Its a total scam to raise the prices of import games, spine cards are pointless.

To me its like saying "Game includes original price tag! ULTR@ R@RE!! $50 more!!"

I care enough that if I see two games in the same condition for the same price but one includes the spine card I'll take the one with the spine card. But I'm not going to pay ridiculous amounts more for one.

I consider the spine card to be an extension of the back insert, and thus part of the packaging required to be complete. Saturn spines are quite beautiful in their own right and worthy of purchase as such. I will pay a little more to have them, but not an absurd price. I won't purchase them at all if they're not present unless it's a rare game I can resell for more.

I think spine cards are nice but theirs no way of displaying them correctly without wrapping your game up so they usually just stay inside the case never to be seen.

Not useful. Spine cards left loose on the case where they were initially will just make them fall off, or if attached get damage over time from opening the case.

Gamecube sleeves are much better presentable.

I would only be concerned with the spine card if it was the only way to have the game name printed on the spine in english. Otherwise I don't care and will not pay more for it.

It's a nice to have, but I don't mind if my games don't have a spine card. Of my Japanese Dreamcast collection, I'd say about 50 percent still has the spine card.

To me it's one of those things like the hanging tabs on Genesis boxes or the certificate of authenticity stickers on 360 boxes. I don't really understand what the fascination is either. Seems lame for something like that to raise the price of a game but I'm not terribly surprised it does.

A spine card is the hymen of a new game assuring its first owner that he is truly her one and only, and of a used game assuring its new owner that whilst she has been played with in the past that play has never been too careless or thorough.

Well I hadn't repped StarMist recently so I did!

It's nice to have but not a deal breaker if it's missing and I want the game.
