    Default Genesis/Mega Drive

I think that this is one of the best systems you can collect for, IMO. Prices are usually fair, games aren't too hard to find. Games are great, and the systems are reliable.

    Your opinions?

I'm going to disagree with everything you said here to inspire discussion.

One of the best? It's THE best system IMHO.

    Great games in all genres.
Decent prices for most of all great games.
3 add-ons with more great games.
    Many different models.
Great boxes (not the cardboard ones).
Possibilities to mod for even greater experience.
The games are easy to find mint.

And so on... I'm gonna collect for this system for a very long time.

I'm only interested in Panorama Cotton of those you mentioned, and I already have that game. Sure, it was expensive, but compared to rarities for other systems it wasn't that much.

Well, I don't go after the stupidly, overhyped Japanese only games. So it's cheaper for me. Some of them are good, no doubt, not not something that is going to make me waste a months wages on a freaking game. Even though I talk about collecting... I'm much more of a person who plays the games rather than gets picky about condition, just by looking at the games I own, and the fact that about half of them are loose.

Collecting, well if you wait it out, take your time and look you can easily get some good bargins, and willing to make some sacrifices. Zebbe understands what I'm talking about.

Why it's a great system to collect for. If the prices are a problem, then why bother?

I love my Mega Drive and my collection. Naturally, as a Mega Drive game collector, who is posting on a Sega-16 forum and attends Mega Drive tournaments twice a year, I am hardly going to disagree that this is one of the best systems to collect for.

Although I reckon it would be awesome to be a PC game collector. Back from the golden days of DOS games through to modern titles, most of them could probably be picked up dirt cheap, there are 1000's more games than on any other platform and it would just be awesome.

You can get great rarities for nice prices if you just take your time with the deal and don't rush it to the first you see.

I used to collect PC games, but I quit because, not because it was cheap, but rather it was a pain to play most of them.
