    Pc iTunes buffoonery

Does anyone know if it's possible to take TV episodes downloaded from iTunes and burn them onto a DVD-R? I tried doing it like a CD and my DVD player wouldn't read it. Then I tried Windows DVD maker and that won't work. I want to do this so the episodes are backed up because I had to get my computer reimaged last year and I lost all of my songs and TV shows. I was shocked that Apple actually let me re-download them for free after I explained what happened, but I don't want to have to do that again. I doubt they'll be so nice next time. Is there any program I can get that would allow me to put the episodes on disc? They let you do it with music, so I don't know why they'd be so dickish with TV shows. How do they expect people to back them up? Is a $100+ portable hard drive the only way?

If you're a Windows user, try the CopyTrans Control Center:

    http://www.copytrans.net/

It allows you to manage your iPod, iPhone and iPad-files without iTunes - this includes File Backups and, if necessary, conversion.

It's legal, and it's Shareware: Free to use, pay to access some extra features. But the backup-function is already included in the free version.

I tried using copytrans, but the only program it will let me use for free is Copytrans Manager, which is of no use for me because I don't have an ipod/pad/pieceofshit. Are there any programs out there that will let me take the iTunes video files and convert them to something like .avi?

Before you can covert anything, you'll need to remove the DRM from your files.

First, back-up your files just in case. Then download this.

Extract it and run it - it'll remove the copy protection. Now, to convert your videos to another format, I suggest this program. It's free and easy to use, just say "no to upgrade" when you run it and you'll be fine.

    Hope that works for 'ya.
