ahahahah nightmare circus was the donkey kong killer... yeah right!
too old for video games huh?
I "like" these YT clowns that don't take five minutes to research and discover what's the developer of the version they're shitting on. GFII on the MD was made by CRI; heck, it's written in the title screen that he showed in his own video!
Anyway, it was kinda fun to watch - the regular stupid commentary that should never take all the video footage.
That rise of the robots commercial was hilarious.
KimbleJustice, I enjoyed the videos! They're well-edited and cleanly put together, and certainly you're a funny narrator with good comic timing.
I'd quibble with a choice here or there -- Deadly Moves isn't that bad, and if you're stabbing everyone in the crotch in Sword of Sodan, you're doing it wrong (I have no idea how that myth got started, maybe it works better in the Amiga version?). And I know Heavy Nova has its passionate defenders; there are a bunch of seasoned gamers on Sega-16 who think highly of it, so I suspect there's more to it than meets the eye.
But everything else I either agree with or haven't played. And I certainly can't argue with your #1 pick -- that game just oozes wrongness from every pore.
The Umbrellahead Review: where the movies are B and the packages large.
lol
Well, I should take care before saying shit about any Genesis-related video since most of the enthusiastics are always around here... But I'm always saying shit anyway...
I agree with goldenband that some of the choices are arguable but you had some good ones like Technocop. I played this game a few days ago and it ruined my mood completely.
I missed some games like Super Thunder Blade and Spider-Man: Animated Series there...
And sorry, but I really don't like so many comments during the game footage. Let me at least hear the game for 10 seconds and I'll be satisfied.
The best part is that you have added that Rise of the Crap commercial. I have never seen that and it was funny to see how they tried to sell that crap as the next big thing.

Deadly Moves feels a lot like a bootleg to me - I can't take the slowdown, and the heavy ripping of SFII makes it even cheaper. One thing I do like about the game is the backgrounds - especially that superb one on the back of a train. That's some real "Emperor of the North Pole" style fighting right there.
Playing Sword of Sodan, I do see how getting on the inside and slashing folks is a lot more effective than crotch-stabbing. It's a video-making concern, really - the repetitive crotch stabbing is a lot funnier to showcase. It's like Altered Beast (although the kick to the balls is usually the most effective move there).
I read the comments for Heavy Nova on here and I know the game has defenders - I've tried to play it plenty of times to see what they see, but I just can't. I know you can recharge your power, but only when standing and walking around, and you can crouch to avoid any attacks that come your way when doing that, but it just makes everything so slow and cumbersome...waiting around to recharge the power just so you can attack again isn't fun, and it seems crazy that crouching would make you invincible. In the end, Heavy Nova just goes against everything I hold dear in a fighting game - although on reflection it's not worse than Slaughter Sport/Fatman and I'd have definitely switched those around. I honestly greatly prefer Black Hole Assault - I don't think that's a particularly good game either, but it's much the same system as Heavy Nova only paced a lot quicker. I kind of wonder why I've never seen a single positive word for BHA.
It's ok!
Super Thunder Blade would have probably just missed the bottom 20, but I never considered the game because I already did a full review of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0vA6tkCBnU (the first one I ever did, in fact - it's...yeah, a bit too freaking long for the two games covered.) - I already had Strider Returns in the list as a game where I'd already made a video, so if I had another it would probably look like I didn't have enough material for 20 games.
On the commentary issue...well yeah, everyone has their own school of thought on that. I'm still pretty new to the video reviewing game, and I'm always fine-tuning my vids to try and find the right pacing and balance. I try to avoid the usual YT video reviewer pitfalls (no compound swearwords, no faked anger, no unfunny skits, no complete lack of research or scripting etc. - also, despite this video series, no reliance on bad games - I actually greatly prefer reviewing games I enjoy. A big part of this series was to get the games out of my system so I didn't have to bother with them in the future). It's getting there slowly - recently I'm trying to be briefer, use longer takes of the game being played and so on...I do like to provide commentary though. I'm probably not a good enough games player to be able to do raw gameplay footage (and I hate to see a video of a game being played badly - no 3 words fill me with more dread on Youtube than "Blind Let's Play") - plus cubex55's Longplays channel/website already does a pretty good job of showing raw gameplay footage.
Thanks for the comment!
Kimblejustice, anyone ever told you that you kinda sound like GuruLarry in these videos? You got a very similar sounding accent at least.
Wow these're fantastic videos! Very entertaining both to watch and to listen to. Sounds to me like he's from the same area as michael caine.
Strange how everytime he says "r" it sounds like "w". Kinda reminds me of kim jong il in team america world police.

Great videos. I enjoyed them.
My Top20 Sega Genesis Soundtrack (It is no longer updated, but it is the only video I made! And it's game by game, not track by track. You can play blindtest.)
