    ^Thanks for the rep.

And yeah, it's the same way for me; "if it falls on my lap", I might as well just keep it. But I don't tend to go out hunting for variants, though. I usually just end-up buying them for $0.99 at a local Play N Trade just for the case (as a donor case) and end-up realizing it's a variant. I'm not sure if I'll ever own all of Working Designs' variants. I just hope that whatever version I get for each game isn't a "Frankenstein'ed" copy.

I prefer longboxes over jewel cases. Jewel cases make it too hard to spot games from the spines, whereas all of my Sega CD and Genesis games are clearly legible from the couch.

I wouldn't really consider LaserDiscs to have excessive packaging, they have about the same amount as a record does. Its just that the discs themselves were pretty excessive in size.

Nice collection you have there, man. I notice you don't own any European games - does that mean they were no exclusive Euro DC games or did you not include them?

That's just a complete US set. There are many Euro-only games on the DC.

Good point, but when I compared LaserDiscs to DVDs they seem excessive.

Actually, now I'm a bit curious, I wonder which is bigger by volume: a LD in jacket or a DVD in it's case?

I'm not sure what you mean by volume... do you mean storage capacity?

I think he means the amount of physical space they take up.

(And there's an easy way to find out: dunk 'em both in water and see which one displaces more! You'd probably want to use a LD with disc rot and a Forrest Gump DVD, though, to ensure that nothing of value was lost.)

I was thing like finding the total volume (length x width x height) in MM or something of each of them and comparing. LD are tall but thin, whereas all DVD cases are pretty much the same size with a lot of empty space compared to a CD case.

Also, is that a cat paw on that LD?

Yes, she was mad I wouldn't pet her and kept getting in the picture. If it was something more than a laugh, I would've taken a proper pic.

Well that was certainly good to use a kitty to give a sense of scale.
