Default Acclaim 32X Cart Security Bits

Does anyone know the size or type of the security bit needed to open those 32X carts made by Acclaim? I have a copy of NBA Jam TE that I need to open and the standard 4.5 size won't fit in whatever screws Acclaim decided to use in them. Thanks in advance!

Are they like Super Nintendo cart screws?

Aren't they plain old torx screws? Sort of like the star shape, but if it had many more points. The security bit screws we know of are inverted torx style.

Yeah, I thought Acclaim just used standard gamebit screws... the ones I can't figure out are Accolade carts (on the Genesis, that is). They use these odd ones that look like gamebit screws, but have an additional pin in the center, so you'd need a special bit with a gamebit design but with a hole in the middle too...

I just use a flatblade screwdriver for those funky screws, with the inverted gamebit design and the pin in the middle. It can be done, you just need a rather specific size of flatblade.

I've gotten some annoying screws out using a full speed power drill set to spin counter clockwise. Certainly not the greatest solution though.

I've used needle nose pliers on security screws like that. Takes longer, but works fine.

Yeah, I've used a flat head watch screw driver for the torx bits with the pin in the middle, it catches on one of the outside edges and the pin and turns just fine. Sometimes the pin snaps off and I can then just used a torx driver.

I'm pretty sure your speaking about tamper resistant 2.3 mm torx screws and you can find what you need here for $9.99 http://www.nintendorepairhut.com/rep...rsupplies.html
