I've never been able to do it, but is there some way to create save states when playing a Sega
CD game with Gens? And if so, could someone point me in the right direction? Any help would
be appreciated, thanks!

Yes it is.
1. Click File, then select "Save State as".
2. Save as something you'll remember, like "Save01" or something.
3. To load up the Save State, click File, then select "Load State".
4. Now, where it says "File of Type", change it from "Save States" to "All Files" - for some reason, Gens can't identify it's own save state file format properly. Now just find the file you named and "Open" it. That's it.

I always thought Fusion was a little bit better for that overall, and since its emulation's a little better, it's a double win. I vaguely recall Gens's SCD savestates to get a little glitchy with things like CD audio and streaming content.
Jackal and muteKi, thanks for the info!
Drakon, thanks for the sarcasm. I really appreciate it.
Use the latest Kega fusion. Its probably the best Genesis emulator around.
Only slight gripe is one cannot map the save/load to gamepad through the unit itself. Had to learn how to use x-padder to make that happen.
I recently switched from Gens to Fusion and never looked back, with Gens i was having problems with some cd games not working and an emu window problem in Vista.
