Default Mick & Mack as the Global Gladiators

Virgin Games had a string of hits on the Genesis, and it was the place that pooled the talents of David Perry and Tommy Tallarico, who both eventually went on to bigger and brighter things. One of their most popular collaborations was Mick & Mack as the Global Gladiators, an action game with an environmental theme and a McDonald's license. Put down that Big Mac and read our full review of this Genesis favorite.

I liked this game, but it just didn't seem to totally click.

But in other news, WHY NICK WHY?!

With a baseball bat. This is actually playable.

My friends and I used to do the 'virgin' thing all the time too, and once got in trouble for it when my mom didn't know Virgin was a game company.

I digress. I think this game is a 7 easy, the music is great, the level designs are...not inspired, but defienetly solid and fun, and it's good enough to rise above it's corporate sponsorship and well-intentioned-but-awkwardly-used envrionmental preaching.

Yeah, that's my feeling as well. I think it's a difficult game to score just because there's nothing really wrong with it, but it definitely has areas which could stand some improvement. The "7" rating makes it look worse than it is, I think. I do believe I spend more time in the options menu listening to the music and playing the bonus level than the actual game though.

Also, I goofed on the review and called the NES game Global Gladiators and not M.C. Kids. Could you please change that for me, Melf? I am surprised this would be the first Genesis McDonald's game to get reviewed here (I'd think the Treasure link woulc have seen McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure taken by now ).

Oh Come on, M.C. Kids is a pretty solid game IMO.

This is one of my old time favs'. It still creeps me out watching the opening. Ahh, a McDonalds, Kids eating and BOOM....Ronald McDonald appears and makes then disappear.

NOW THAT IS ONE SCARY HAPPY MEAL!
