cool review, I enjoy seeing games I've never heard of before. Very interesting indeed. A shame the game apparently is very little fun though haha.

I remember downloading this game as a ROM and was pretty taken aback by it. Some of the sumo grapples appear more like softcore gay sex scenes, although that could just be me. The gameplay was suitably shocking too. 2 is a deserved rating.

I actually have this game as ROM file, I yet to play it. I've heard it's pretty bad.

I just noticed that this there is a broken link between the article and this thread. Maybe an administrator could fix this?
In any case, I have owned this game for quite some time but I have not been able to find information regarding how to execute the special moves in the game. After much frustration, I find myself screaming Aah! Harimanada! even though I have no clue how to properly play the game!
I suspect that there is a deeper game than what appears on the surface. It is graphically pleasing to the eye and I think the game instills a level of excitement to a sport that is largely foreign to a westerners like myself. there was a time in the mid 90s when I thought the sport of sumo wrestling may be common place in North America. Unfortunately it never caught on. Since the sport is not very popular here, this could lend credence as to why information about this game is non-existent.
If someone happens to see this comment and owns the game, could you provide some information regarding the controls? It would be much appreciated. Seeing this title on my ROMset always made me think that it was the Japanese version of "Aah! Real Monsters!".
