Default Adventures of Batman & Robin (Sega CD)

Upon its release, the Adventures of Batman & Robin for the Sega CD was lauded for its incredible use of scaling and its exclusive cartoon animation. These are all well and good, but how did the game itself play? Well, why not read our full review and find out?

I agree with the score. For such a lofty showpiece, the game is just too damn hard. They should have cut the difficulty in half and added a few levels. I thought the driving levels in Batman Returns for the Sega CD were hard enough, and these are about on the same level. Why do Batman driving games have to be so hard?

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of the show and was disappointed by the difficulty which made it so difficult for me to enjoy the clips. It's just not a fun game.

I think this is way better than Batman Returns. Batman Returns can be frustrating too, but the graphics are a lot worse.

Wow, that's awesome to see my first review go up on this site! And from the sound of things, it looked like I managed to raise a lot of the important issues about the game. Very rewarding for me

I mean that the graphics in Batman Returns are a lot worse.
The graphics of the sideview-levels have an awfull colour selection, they are exactly the same as in the Mega Drive-game.
The racing levels of Batman Returns were quite good, but I think they were more pixelated than in Batman and Robin. If it hadnīt been that damn hard, Batman & Robin could have been a hit. But hey, Contra is hard too, but still fun, so Iīd recommend everyone to give the game a chance.

This appears to be the only other game developed by Clockwork Tortoise besides the Gen/MD version.

Lets not talk about Batman Returns. That game was summoned from the 12th level of hell.

The Sega CD added no color improvements over the Genesis, so it shouldn't be a surprise that it would look the same. Mickey Mania, Ecco CD, etc. all look like the Genesis games. The only one I believe which improved upon the original is the Eternal Champions CD game which used the "HAM" style tricks some games used later in the system's life to add more colors on the screen.

Batman Returns is dull but not quite a horrible game, though I think the soundtrack makes the CD version much more enjoyable to play.

So you know exactly what it's like to be the Dark Knight.
