Giddy for advertisers. In many GameFan reviews he (and others) would talk about how much a game sucks and say very little good about it, and then they'd grace the game with a score like 79%.

Their reviews almost never went below 60% (because they were game fans), but if you adjusted to their perspective, it was pretty consistent, and you knew that if it was 90% and above, it was worth checking out (but then I notice this trend among game reviews everywhere). Also those last 10 percentage points really mattered with them, so a 96% wasn't NEARLY as good as a 98%, heh. I'm not actually sure what Gamefan gave Heimdall, but I bet it was about 75% (not that high), and I agree: Heimdall isn't the best game and could have been better. Something about the world kind of appealed to me, though.

There was something I liked about it too. That didn't stop if from being a terrible game though.

Hmm I guess this game must be kind of obscure. Hardly any info out there, and I don't have the manual.

Anyone have any tips for playing, or links to guides?

Specifically, I'm wondering what to do with all these scrolls of runes? They can't be used, or even read, as far as I can tell.

    EDIT!

    Here's the manual for Heimdall:

And the game makes more sense now; Some scrolls can only be read by characters with enough accumulated Runepower!
