Default The saturn was just dethroned....

As the mother of all E3 screw ups.....I cant imagine one possible way MS has any chance. I am in shock that Sony saved the day...

And that is one title the Xbox one can gladly take away from the Saturn.

I don't think the Saturn or One had worse presentations or marketing than the PS3 did in its first E3.

C'mon fellas, I love the Saturn but....

    Poorly planned
    Poorly designed
    Poorly launched
    Poorly marketed
    Poorly priced
Poorly supported franchises that previously put Sega on the map
    etc.

XBox One has nothing on the blunder that cost Sega over a billion.

All that said, i still love it. Sweet looking console & style, great controllers, great 1st party titles, great arcade ports, etc. And unlike that piece of shit 32X, it truly brought Sega gaming to the NEXT LEVEL.

The Saturn Hardware isn't really the one to blame for most of that though, it's Sega of America.

SEGA of America completely botched it all up. They deserve most of the blame.
SEGA is the Messiah of Console Gaming.

In July 2013, Exactly 164 months after Dreamcast launched, something BIG will happen at SEGA. Which is "ORBI" the world.

Poorly planned - In which region? In what aspects?
Poorly designed - Very highly arguable, hence all of the arguments that still persist.
Poorly launched - In the West.
Poorly marketed - In the West, and even then only for 1995.
Poorly priced - During the Summer Pre-Launch only.
Poorly supported franchises that previously put Sega on the map - Standard for Sega, known for its new IP more than its franchises.
etc. - Actually, that's pretty much the entire standard nonsense in a nutshell.

If how much money a console has lost each company is a standard then Sony and MS have launched and marketed consoles that were much bigger losers.

That you can make this last statement in the same post in which you call the Saturn poorly designed and planned just boggles my mind. Here's a marketing idea, Saturn the TRUE NEXT LEVEL of horrible hardware design. How about, Saturn: A horrible mess with a great library of games. What a marvelous blend of assertions it is.

32X was unnecessary and half assed.

Why the hell SEGA didn't scrap it in favor of Jupiter is beyond me.

Fixed. Releasing another system along with the Saturn would have put them in the exact same boat.

Should have just taken the development effort and $$$$ off the 32X and used it to make the Saturn better.
