Default Nintendo: We have failed to establish Wii U as a "worthy" Wii successor

President Satoru Iwata says "We have so far failed to make propositions worthy of Wii U's position as a successor to the Wii system."

Wii U is a crippled shit heap of poor design in multiple ways. Nintendo is and was genuinely stupid with their stewardship of both platform paradigms for some time.

Iwata should have been ousted long ago. The only reason I buy Nintendo consoles nowadays is for Zelda games.

Just play SNES; all is fine.

On that note, it should be mentioned that I haven't purchased a new Nintendo console since the GameCube in 2001...

    Do they believe in miracles?

The retardedly-named Microsoft console and the PS4 have a lot of specs that are quadruple of what the Wii U has.

Maybe Nintendo has a few tricks up their sleeves for their middle-gen console.

It seems to be the case given their responses so far.

Should have called it "Wii HD" and everything would be fine.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

"F-Zero" was never a big-selling franchise for Nintendo, hence them not bothering to bring it back.

It is just too bad that the GBA Player on Gamecube failed to realize my hopes of a SNES without crippled hardware for Action games and reverb heavy sample based music. When I saw all of the remakes of SNES games for GBA I had such high hopes of a 2D revival on my TV set. Maybe that revival still exists in the gems I have failed to look for.

I would not play ports of other games on the GBA. The original versions are usually better.
But the GBA definitely has some cool exclusives.
I am playing Metroid Fusion on the GBA on my TV with the AD adapter and its very good.
I am just starting to get familiar with the GBA library.

The main hardware flaw of the GBA imho is its shitty DAC. I think they used better resolution samples than on the SNES but they crippled the machine with that crap DAC which makes everything sound noisy and alisased.
