    It's not just the rights. . .
It's the bad bussiness and bad image.
The way they treat their employees when forcing another release of 'pointless stat upgrade 12' doesn't help things.

If they really made quality products consistantly, I would still consider buying EA products new.

the nfl really screwed the video game industry as a whole by giving ea exclusive rights. ea really got lazy without the heated competition. madden 06 through 09 are the worst football games ive ever played(especially 09 which i bought brand new last year for 60$ and was thoroughly pissed) thanks to the nfl there were no good football games worth buying for youre new console for the first time since the(early days of the) 8 bit generation. i have played 10 recently and was somewhat impressed it isnt as good as 04/05 which was the overall peak of the franchise but it is defenitely the best next gen football game yet(still not saying much) with madden retired and the nfl-ea contract nearing an end does anybody know what the future holds for virtual football?
I don't play old stuff for nostalgia, I play old stuff because the games are better.

EA published and produced some great action games for Genesis that I enjoyed very much but I don't buy any of their stuff besides those, unless you count the 3DO which they had a hand in developing.
