My Turbo Duo won't play games, and it's telling me to initialize the file cabinet. What the fuck does that mean?

You just can't handle my jawusumness responces.
That means you need to turn on the Duo, then press SELECT. Then select FORMAT. All your old save files (if you had any) will be gone, but your Duo will now work. The Duo doesn't use a battery but rather a charged capacitor. Normally it can last over a year. Just turn it on for a second or two every couple of months to keep it charged forever and ever.
My Mega CD instruction manual says something similar - turn the Mega CD on at least once per month. Does it also use a charged capacitor?
Buy stuff at the Magical Game Factory, WaterMelon's crowd funding video game development site!
Do YOU have any games you want to get rid of that haven't been reviewed on the site and needs to be beaten for the sake of this project? Send 'em to me and I'll review and beat them! I'll pay for shipping of course. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.
Probably, but I don't know. When I had my Sega CD open I just closed it back up right away because it was boring. I forgot to see if there is an actual battery. But if the manual says to turn it on once a month, then I'd say most likely it doesn't have a battery.
they use a small lithium cell, that is charged, like the dreamcast battery..

Hmm. Ok, thanks. For some reason that simple information wasn't in the two Turbo FAQs I read. "File Cabinet is not initialized" makes no bloody sense either; if the message had just said "please format memory" I would've understood.
On a side note, why did Sega use a battery for Saturn? This seems better.

Because they wanted you to change it out every year, thinking it would be a fun game!
