Genesis Teasers: It Came from the Desert

While It Came from the Desert has been available as freeware and in reproduction form for a while now, it's finally getting the licensed treatment denied to it back in 1990. Developer Cinemaware is partnering with Pier Solar creators Watermelon to give the game the full physical release treatment for Christmas 2014. Another lost Genesis title finally comes home! Read our teaser article for more details.

Thanks! For me the bizarre thing is that I just beat the game and submitted a review for Sega-16, but obviously that review will (and should) go on hold until this release comes out. I'm curious if there will be any changes to the ROM we have, other than additional copyright/publisher information.

Ha, and only ten minutes after this thread, look what Melf just posted:

I suppose the discussion really should move over to that thread, so maybe this one should be locked?

I just read Melf`s article and personally I hope that they maintain the level of difficulty. The release should have the ability to tone down the difficulty in the main options menu however. This way, those of us who enjoy a high level of difficulty in our games do not have to endure playing a watered down version!

Ha, I actually know one of the producers of that upcoming release. It's not sure whether anything will be changed, since apparantly the original Sourcecode went missing a while ago. So something major like adapting the difficulty would only be possible after reverse-engineering the Code from the Rom.

    Nevertheless, great news

Doesn't look too shabby graphically. I just hope the box, manual and cart art is temporary as it looks bad!

I heard about that several months ago and to be honest I did not believe it back then. Awesome that I was wrong.

    The cover art is badass.
Also, this game is not very good but is miles away of the SFT last taiwanese releases. I hope WM go after Jelly Boy next.
