Stef: I have a question about the XGM driver, in this demo I make the DMA starting at line 200 (with h-int), this still work correctly ?, ie there any way to "make known to the Z80" from 68k when will start the DMA, to prevent the z80 try to read samples during that time (during DMA)?

Sorry i missed this one Gasega68k ! Unfortunately no as i'm using the V-int to time the driver... But hopefully as it plays sample at 14 Khz it left a bit of free time so depending the frame the Z80 could have done sample mixing task before line 200 but that won't be always the case. Compared to a classic Z80 driver it should improve voice playback but definitely if you want perfect quality i believe you need to write your own driver to handle it (always possible).
But before doing this, i think you should make some tests with the XGM driver to see how much impact you have on PCM playback with your engine.

I've been doing what would be the "G-Zero" for Gen/Md, did the map of "Big Blue", albeit with modified graphics, but similar to the original. Currently I'm trying to add some sound effects, and I'm also trying to add music.

    Here are some pictures:

Although I am using the original graphics of the game (from the snes) for this demo, later I want to do all the graphics and sounds (and also music) new, to be an entirely new game, I also thought about the possibility of doing this without the need for external 64kB RAM, and instead use a 16kB space of the main RAM, this means that the size of the texture would be "128x128", instead of "256x256" (this would mean the size of the "pixels" of the texture would be larger).

I think I'll do a test rom with the music to see how it behaves.
Though also I could do the DMA during the v-int, ie when entering the v-int, disable the video, do DMA (for "render" buffer, and also now am using DMA to update color palettes) and then enable the video again, I can do it anyway because I have a space of about 16 lines unused at the top.

By the way, "Sonic Boom" hack had Mute City and Big Blue tunes using SMPS, they sounded fine to me, just in case.
