Super Strike Trilogy - does it exist?

I've seen multiple mentions of a Sega CD release titled Super Strike Trilogy, supposedly a compilation disc of Desert Strike, Jungle Strike, and Urban Strike. Does such a thing possibly exist? I noticed it's not in the Master List.

I've found that as time goes by, more and more of his information is either clarified or proven wrong. This isn't a reflection on him, as I'm sure what he wrote was considered factual at the time. You have to remember that almost a decade has passed since he wrote those articles, and new information is constantly coming to light.

His work is definitely showing its age, and considering that 70% of the GGG was his personal opinion anyway, I no longer see it as having much value. As for his articles on the history of Sega's consoles, they're interesting - if rather depressing and overly negative.

Well yeah, a lot of this stuff we know about today, like games being released or not, behind the scenes, wasn't documented very well, or even known at all!

And now we are all pieceing it together. But I do miss the late-90's when the Sega community was small and piecing stuff together.

But the thought of the Strike trilogy on one CD is a very nice one indeed.

Sam Pettus ran a site called SegaBase around the time the Dreamcast was released. He compiled comprehensive articles on every Sega console, and for years they were considered the definite source of information on the business side of Sega. As mentioned, time has shed new light on many topics covered in the articles, and some of the things he wrote have been expanded upon or just proven wrong. I don't think it says anything negative about him, as his work seems to be as complete as anything from that era could be, given the dearth of information available and the newness of using the Internet to find things out.

We have his three 16-bit articles here at the bottom of the Features page. They're still fascinating reading and a great look at how early journalism about Sega was almost a decade ago. Eidolon's Inn hosts the full site, and every Sega fan needs to check it out.

Super Strike Trilogy is real, but unreleased. I asked David R. Foley some questions via e-mail. He and his company Foley Hi-Tech Systems (which also worked on B.O.B., Spider-Man CD, and Urban Strike) were working on it. It's listed on his resume, and he also mentioned it in his response to me. He didn't elaborate on it, nor did I ask him to.

A CD Version of Jungle Strike exists for the Amiga CD32, but i dont know if there where any enhancements against the cartridge version on sega genesis.

The Strike Trilogy was apparantly going to have levels that had to be removed from the cartidge versions because of space limitations.
