Ahh, you're right. At some point the limit was raised to 1024. That should suffice, for a while...

    here's some more:

    https://www.mediafire.com/?d55ihb5qikubv43

    Alisia Dragoon (part 1)
    Alisia Dragoon (part 2)
    Ecco the Dolphin
Ecco II The Tides of Time
    Eternal Champions
    Mega Turrican (part 1)
    Mega Turrican (part 2)
ResQ (unreleased) (ending theme spotted on
Skeleton Krew IMPRESSIVE (spotted on the best music thread)
    Sword of Vermilion
The Adventures of Batman and Robin (part 1) YES FIRST TRACK ALONE IS 18 MINUTES
The Adventures of Batman and Robin (part 2)
The Adventures of Batman and Robin (part 3)
The Adventures of Batman and Robin (part 4)
The Adventures of Batman and Robin (part 5)
The Adventures of Batman and Robin (part 6) is this the biggest OST ? vgm size isn't proportional to rom size for some reason
    Vapor Trail

oh and BTW I just realized that when the OST fits on one 32meg ROM and there is a playlist file (.m3u) present, you just need to drop this file on the builder and the tracks get automatically sorted.

    EDIT: and 2 more:
    https://www.mediafire.com/?x7yz3dpjciaf6ya

    Hellfire
    Puyo Puyo 2

it seems Animaniacs & Red Zone are the only ones bigger than Batman & Robin, but I'm too lazy to create them right now. Red Zone should be particularly interesting.

Thanks chilled, and excellent taste! I've added them all in today's update. Cheers

Also, what does everyone think about renaming the project to "Sega VGM-ROM Music Project"?

I posted a small update yesterday to include Dragon's Fury (Devil's Crush).

For those following the VGM Player updates, I'm still waiting to hear back from the developer and will post any news when I have it.

    Media Major VGM Player Announcement

Sorry to triple post, but I received a really exciting update from the Deadfish VGM Player's author. The next version will not only include the option to bake in custom background images, but the font and on-screen text will also be configurable.

Here is a beta screenshot of the GUI update. The grey box displays a preview of the player that you're building!

One of my favorite things to do is to hook up the Gen 1 and pop in the Mega Everdrive and play these collections. Seems like the project is dead?

Thanks, the project isn't dead but I have put it on hiatus. I'm waiting for the finished release of Stef's superior XGM Player. When it's released, I'll go back through and rebuild all of the players from scratch. That will be cool because it's a higher quality player and will support artwork. I just don't want to start rebuilding them until his program is totally finished.

I believe the Deadfish player itself is dead though, since those preview versions were never released and I never heard back from the programmer behind it.

Okay, nice to hear, hopefully that all happens soon! You really get a great appreciation for the musical compositions. To me, there will never been another era like the 16-bit one. Everything went to CD, and it wasn't the same.

anybody can keep on doing them like I was doing, it's actually very easy with zero programming skills needed. It's just that it looks like as smokemonster said, XGM roms will have way better presentation, etc. just look at the 4 roms that have been released so far

Except that again, even XGM still has issues. I created an album set for Sonic 3, and many of the tracks percussion is way off during playback. Not to mention that about 3 or 4 tracks will plain crash the Genesis hard when trying to play them through XGM. Don't get me wrong, I love how much music you can store in the XGM player, but it still needs some fine tuning and a few more features to really replace the VGM DF player.

oh I didn't know about that, but there's a lot of difference between the size needed in the project of this thread and XGM's. Batman & Robin would need a lot of 4 MB roms just to store the music in this format (see my previous posts).

Maybe smokemonster could improve his tool and we could resume, but I think that's not his intention. Anyway you can keep on converting VGM's from project 2612's website as I did for some time. You just have to be careful with the order of the songs, and how much you can fit before it hangs when trying to play the last ones of the rom

A most excellent collection, Joe. Thank you! I've added all 129 of your players and updated the first post. If you happen to still have the source VGMs in folders, I'd love to have those too if it's not too much trouble.
