    Yes, I can have up to 8 characters on screen, and projectiles too, with no slowdown so far, which is extremely encouraging.

    The video Pyron was refering to :

    And a more recent one, with the pink guardian implemented. Now level 1-1 is complete, I'll beta-test it for some time and release the ROM as a playable demo.

    Wow. This is an absolute dream come true for me. Ever since i bought my first Mega Drive in 1991 i was hoping for SHINOBI to somehow make it onto the system. Awesome stuff!

    Here we go! This is the first Shinobi MD demo!

    Many thanks to the people who helped me so far, Pyron, Philip, Stef and Upsilandre

    Don't expect too much, very few game mechanics are implemented : no title screen, no music, no scoring, no bonus (in particular you always shoot shuriken), only one level you can't finish. If you die, you simply start again as if you've just switched your MD on !

    But all enemy types you can encounter in this level are implemented, and Musashi moveset is complete (except magics).

    Button start toggles an autofire (helped me to spot some bugs).

    So you can judge gameplay, performances, responsiveness. It should give a good idea of the final product.

    Concerning reports, you can make them here. In particular, bug reports are more than welcomed.

    If you encounter one, please :

    * take a screenshot (normally a black screen with digits will appear)

    * describe the most precisely possible what you did to get the bug

    In particular, Pyron noticed a random crashing bug I can't reproduce. I fixed things that could be the cause, but I can't be sure. I played the game during half an hour today, then let the console switched on during 7 hours, without crashes, but you never know... Please report it if youe encounter it.

    Amazing! I tried it in an emulator, but will flash it to my everdrive this evening. It looks incredible!
    Cannot wait to see it running in my CRT.

    It's looking and playing great, my congrats for taking the huge effort of recreating a game like this from scratch.

    However, I'm getting some fatal errors in real hardware through Mega Everdrive sometimes when the game boots or restarts after dying. I'll see if I can get them reproduced in emulator (which doesn't give those problems so far) so I can post a clean screenshot, or else I'll take a picture from my TV showing it.

    Bug report: after a while, abusing of shurikens with autofire, I've been unable to throw more. Only body attacks will work.
    I've also beem able to randomly reproduce it (jumping around shooting back and forth).
    I've also made a short video.

    I'd say after a good minute, in the video I show pushing the B button (to no result) but being able to kick an enemy at the end.

    That's really weird. I died several hundredth of times yesterday with no bug, and the game was played on real hardware by some persons today w/o someone reporting this.

    Can you reproduce it and isolate some pattern (iccurs only when dying at a precise location for example) ?

    Also, just in case, do you know the precise model of your ED and your Megadrive ?

    Strange too.

    Do you remember if something special happened the last time you could draw shuriken ? Did you launch them at some special place ?

    Can you reproduce it ?
