    Hi,

    I added PCM audio file support on the Engine. You can now play PCM file from CD.

    To convert any audio file to PCM under Linux or Windows => http://ffmpeg.org

    Just some restriction due to the Sega Saturn hardware:
    Compatible Samplerate : 8000 to 44100 Hz (-ar option)
    Compatible PCM format : s8 (-f option)
    Compatible mode: 8/16 bit mono/stereo
    Some command line:
    ffmpeg -i A.WAV -f s8 -ar 44100 A.PCM
    ffmpeg -i A.MP3 -f s8 -ac 1 -ar 8000 A.PCM

    Now in Jo Engine:

    jo_sound my_snd;
    jo_audio_load_pcm("A.PCM", JoSoundMono16Bit, &my_snd);
    ...
    jo_audio_play_sound(&my_snd, 0);

    ---

    I also made a huge update of Jo Map Editor:

    You can now explode (split) image in tile and export any image in raw 15 bits format:

    Attachment 11059

    This really is amazing work. I can't wait to see what else comes from this! The Saturn needs a lot more homebrew love and this 2d sonic fan game looks beautiful!

    Thx Game Taff

    Btw, I look for someone to help me to create sprites (not ripped).
    I want to create kick ass demo to show the engine possibilities
    Unfortunately, I suck at drawing

    Keyboard? Is it actual keyboard support or just the gamepad fallback inherent to the protocol? (for those who aren't aware: every peripheral on the Saturn will simulate a joypad in addition to their actual features, so save for the mouse and wheel which can't simulate a D-pad, you can play any Saturn game with just about anything)

    Keyboard if you use an emulator

    ...oh (・_・)

    The Saturn keyboard really does emulate a controller if anybody wonders (arrows map to the D-pad, Z/X/C/A/S/D to A/B/C/X/Y/Z, Q/E to L/R, Esc to Start) At least that's the impression I get by looking at its packet format.

    I wish I knew something about coding to help. My limited were stretched with visual basic, php, html etc.. Keep working on that sonic demo!

    This is totally awesome and this Sonic game looks better than Sonic X-Treme. Hopefully this will allow us to get the 6 player Project Y sequel in 2020.
