I decided to have a go at recreating a GA track with GA2 instruments. Not that I could put it in the game the way I did it, but it was pretty fun.

It sounds very nice, more ethereal and mystical. Are the FM drums from Golden Axe 2? They sound very good.

Thanks, uploading a slightly edited version to YT now. The majority of instruments are from GA2 and the rest from GA1 actually, since I made it as accurate as possible before tweaking it and GA2 didn't have some instruments. Some instruments were edited a bit in terms of decay, distortion etc. and I added an extra harmony from the arcade version using PSG.
GA2: bell+brass lead, three bass instruments, two kick drums, snare, backing brass chords, bell/chime, flutes
GA1: hi-hat and ride, tom drum, string/bagpipe lead (just detuned the echo and lowered the distortion a bit), kick drum (moody break), brass lead in the break, snare in the last part

Mega Bomberman always sounded like it could have done with a little refinement to me.

Excellent work! IMHO this sounds better than the original! Thanks for providing a download link to the track!

Thanks guys, can't promise I'll do all the tracks but I have done Fiend's Path now and might do one more soon.

I wasn't sure about the bass for this one, you can hear an alternate one in the second loop (3:20) but the first works better with the kick drum I think. I tried to copy the feedback effect and extra harmony in the arcade version to get more intensity, but it's pretty subtle. Also had some minor issues with the tempo, the triplets (I think they're called that) played by the bass sound slightly off, so if anyone knows how to fix that in VGMM then do tell.

As with the previous track this is a mix of GA1 and GA2 instruments.

Didn't Tiido remake that one a few years back? This one's good, but loved his version.

No idea, but accuracy wise this is the closest rendition to the arcade IMO.

if someone just convert the SF2 CE music to SSf2 will be amazing, the original one is very close to arcade and sounds very well,
but 68k version is welcome too =D

Yeah, and I prefer his version honestly.

Found this one though, which honestly sounds awesome in its own way (not sure if it follows real hardware restrictions strictly, though):

Yeah Gecko Yamori's stuff is great of course. Whether it's completely accurate or not, well it seems he can avoid the clicking noises that happen from time to time with certain instruments and some on the fly effects seem a tad smoother than they should. I haven't spotted anything else though.

Yeah, Gecko made that one and he sticks to the limitations.

I'd like to hear Tiido's version. I haven't heard it before, and now I'm curious. Personally, if I ever do covers from Street Fighter 2, I would give Cammy or Guile's theme a go.
