    Default PAL SMS games differences

I was looking Codename Robocod 2 and i noted differences in PAL version, for example parallax scrolling:

What other games have differences in effects therms (not speed)?

That's a pretty good catch. I wonder why PAL games have an added layer of scrolling?

The game is programmed to remove the parallax scrolling and the snow effect if you boot it on 60hz. But if you boot it on 50hz then and switch to 60hz on the fly, then you can play the game on 60hz with both parallax scrolling and snow effect and it behaves fine.

    Weird to say the least.

Really? How odd. That really makes no sense. I'd love to see the Sega 16 staff track down the staff and ask them why that is

R-type is the same. The stars on the first level disappear in 50hz and appear in 60hz

I wonder if they really factored in a performance drop at higher hz, thus removing the effect. Really interesting stuff. Incidentally, the Genesis Pond 3 also has a cheat mode for NTSC display (which I have to completely figure out yet).
