I don't know, the linux source is close to the mac source..
perhaps you just got lucky, because it's a wide bug.

I love how you say 'available' like the bug is a selling feature...Originally Posted by Rusty Venture

It seems like there's no way to install Firefox or Safari on a USB thumb Drive

Get a U3 enabled USB flash drive and you can run Firefox U3 edition.
Also, on a Mac, just drag Safari and Firefox to the USB flash drive, and run the application, works great, but stores your preferences on the host computer, not the flash drive.
On the U3 (Windows only) Firefox, EVERYTHING is stored on the flash drive.

Oops..I have Safari installed on the USB Pen Drive..
What's Firefox U3..I'm going to just copy the files from Windows to my USB Pen Drive
U3 is a technology for conforming flash drives (they MUST have U3 enabled and have the U3 logo on the stick itself), and it has it's own start menu for the USB drive. You install U3 apps in it, and no matter what computer, as long as it's Win2000, XP, or Vista, your programs are with you.

I just have a Normal 2.0 Gig Pen Drive..I guess Safari & Firefox will still work without the U3 install..I just have to click in side of the E Drive in Windows Explorer
You could go a Portable Apps route.
Besides, the route you are going right now might result in DLL hell.

That's because Linux sucks and doesn't have the power to handle it!Originally Posted by Rusty Venture
