    Default OVERDRIVE II

    Hello!

The time has finally come to announce the sequel to our first demo ("overdrive").

    ROM Download
    Video (twitch.tv)

    Code:
    Tech notes:

This demo requires a flash or development cartridge with

       ■ 8 Megabytes capacity
       ■ Support for the SSF2 mapper

    e.g.: TiTANDEV-MD, Mega Everdrive, ToToTek MD-Pro 64M

Due to extensive usage of a previously largely undocumented
hardware register, it will not run properly on all MD systems.

Our tests have shown that around 30% of Model I and 5% of
Model II systems experience issues. This is due to a change
in the manufacturing process of the video chip.

More detailed information will follow in the tech docs that
we'll be releasing in the coming weeks.

This demo will only run on PAL / 50 Hz systems.

At the moment, this demo will not run on ANY emulator.
Emulator developers can expect full support from us in order
to fix this (Please contact us!)
If you can run the demo on real hardware somehow, we'd appreciate if you could help us with our research by posting the following details:

    Model number and revision (e.g. MD1 VA4)
    Serial number of the console
Picture of the VDP / ASIC (if possible)
Brief description of glitches experienced (if any)

    Thanks in advance!

The original was extremely impressive, and probably my favorite demo that I've seen. I'm really looking forward to seeing this one!

That was extremely impressive! Amazing! Especially all of the scaling and rotation stuff. And the 3D stuff, too! Amazing work! Oh! I also liked the clouds behind the city in the beginning which looked like they were flowing. Was that done with color cycling? That's the best use of color cycling I've seen.

I'm at a loss for words on how epic that was. Absolutely amazing. A job well done.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Oerg866 again.

I'm impressed. I noticed that the chat on Twitch exploded when Overdrive 2 started too. This may seem strange, but the transparency effects are what I found most impressive with this one.

I missed it. Curse this having a day job nonsense.

Copying it to my Everdrive at the moment. Hilarious that I have to take my 32X off to run 8MB stuff.

You shouldn't have to. This uses SSF2 bankswitching.

    Well that saves some hassle.

Yay, waste of time. PAL only. I guess I'll have to rely on my firearms collection to console me and my NTSC Genesis. Coincidentally, there's some gunfire going on in the neighborhood as I was typing this.
