No worries, most of those are really obscure games after all.

Found some footage now and it seems it uses FM music only for the end of level jingles, unless that boss theme is a PCM+FM mix.

Interesting, I thought games only used redbook audio for music and Genesis/Sega CD chip for sound fx like EC CD. Thanks for the knowledge.

I guess that all music from stages in past moment of Sonic CD uses YM2612. Correct me if I'm wrong.

^Those zones just use the Ricoh RF5C68/RF5C164 chip as far as I know, so it's kinda like SNES music. Some of the best OSTs that use both chips: Snatcher (MCD), Silpheed (MCD), Popful Mail (MCD), Shadowrun (MCD), Cosmic Fantasy Stories (MCD), Urusei Yatsura: Dear My Friends, A/X-101 (MCD)

Dungeon Explorer uses the Mega Drive soundchips for the mudic in the saving screen and in the shop.

Fatal Fury Special and Samurai Shodown definitely feature Redbook recordings of the original Neo Geo soundtracks. Not sure which sound chip handled sound/voice fx but they sounded horrid and tinny.
