Media How to convert VGM to MP3?

have a question as the title implies. Music is not my strong point here. So this may seem a bit of a dumb question.. Is there a clean way to convert a VGM to a MP3?? I tried the WinAmp with LAME method but all i get is end of song messages and no mp3 files. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

Funnily enough I downloaded this yesterday. It can convert VGM files to WAV, you could then use any other program of your choice to convert to MP3.

Just be sure to enable the logging option in the .ini file.

In fact, just swap it out for this one and open the .exe...

    VGMPlay.zip

... Then just drag and drop your VGM file onto the black box that opens and it will generate a WAV version in the same folder. It worked for me when I made a Mega Turrican ringtone for my phone after getting the VGM file from Kega.

There's also the superb Mega drive vgm player, RYMcast that allows you to export a vgm to wav, flac or aiff(whatever that is...). Of course, that's even if you want it just for MD/GEN vgm.

Anyway, it's here if you want it.

I don't know of any good players, but when you do your recordings make sure to use high bit-rates, or better yet FLAC.

MP3 compression is pretty un-kind to Genesis music, especially unfiltered recordings.

Foobar2000 can convert anything it can play (which includes VGM with a plugin), into any format that has at least a commandline encoder.

    Totally true statement!!

I did all of mine originally at 96khz 24-bit wavs and then converted to FLACs from there when I keep them. For videos on YT I left them as raw Waves when I made my videos. But then as we know, I can't control what YT does with them from there.
