A working Sega CD is worth having even if you don't want to collect for it due to the lack of copyright production and backups.

The real reason why to play the Sega CD Earthworm Jim

Of course it is, it's a sadly overlooked and underused system, After the Saturn its the best console I own.

Worth having for the Lunars and Batman Returns (the best 16bit racer ever made) on their own.
    Panzer Dragoon Zwei is
one of the best 3D shooting games available
    Presented for your pleasure

Is that the ending if you win on easy? I've never seen it before.

If you can find one like I am, I would see it as being worth it, particularly what asmikace said. Decent library. Though it's the model 2 without the copyright protection.

There might be a lot of crap on the Mega CD but when it's good it's really good.

I wouldn't be without mine for title like Silpheed, Final Fight, Soulstar, Battle Corps, Sensible Soccer, Keio Flying Squadron, Robo Aleste, Thunderhawk, After Burner 3 and Spiderman Vs. Kingpin

Scrolling through, I don't think I saw it answered yet: Shining Force CD is a remake of the first 2 Game Gear games. However, only the 2nd game was localized, and the first still doesn't have a fan translation, so SFCD is it, if you want to know what happens before the 2nd game.

Otherwise, I'm not going to try to convince you one way or the other. You gotta decide if it's worth it to you to keep it. I, personally, could live with just the cartridge console, but I hate discs in general anyway

It's much more than a remake of the game gear games. It adds a third and a fourth book. The third book adds an entirely new story that I argue is even better than the first 2 combined.

Oh came on! Not all Mega CD games are good. Mortal Kombat for Mega CD is almost unplayable. At least the last level, every time Shang Tsung change form the game stuck, until the disk as loaded the new character. And Shang Tsung change form every 2 seconds!

I love Mortal Kombat on the Mega CD and my copy sees quite a lot of playtime. It comes as standard with all the lovely gore intact, no need to put a code in, it's got more frames of animation, Sub-Zero's sprite is as it should be (instead of being a copy of Scorpion), it has the great arcade music (played on the wrong stages occasionally but, oh well!), better sound effects and speech and animated FMV intros for each kombatant instead of still pictures. OK so the game struggles like fuck trying to load Shang Tsung's morphs but I can easily overlook that and enjoy what is there. It's not fair when people say that Mortal Kombat CD is no better than the Mega Drive port. It is a lot better I think.
