All 10 August 14th reviews mention audio lag esp in columns. Gameplay lag was mentioned for megaman.

No point in me getting one. I own just about every game on there CIB. I think I'm missing 2-3 titles on the mini only.

However I have been after a turbographx 16 in the wild for years and wanted one since I am a teenager so I got that pre-ordered as even if I found one at this point I wouldn't start collecting on it. I own a Sega saturn since 2014 and only own one game the whole duration because of the prices of collecting.

I pre-ordered it, what the hell. I wanna support the effort and I'm sure they'll update it soon enough to lessen the lag.

So it seems like the American/European branches insisted on the 3 button controller. From a recent talk with Sega's Hiroyuki Miyazaki and Yosuke Okunari:

Japan decided the 6B was the optimal choice but overseas branches insisted on the 3B, so they ended up making both

Also, when I was in Japan last month, it was quite a sight to see how much attention the MD Mini was getting. There were large displays up in all the major electronics stores and billboards up near major stations, like this one:

That's awesome. Great to see that Sega is really putting their all into this, and why not? The Mega Drive mini is, after all, a tribute to the companies greatest success story. Like cabear I will be buying one just to support the effort that Sega have made. I don't need it for the games as I already own the vast majority of the featured titles, but it's important to support what Sega are trying to do here. I wish them every success with this.

It has been officially confirmed that the Darius port is Hidecade's (which we already knew).

4gamer has a new interview with Hidecade (Hideki Konishi) that goes into detail. Very fascinating. He is an ob/gyn by trade and took up programming as a hobby.

I’d really like a physical copy of the new Darius port, official or otherwise...

Hopefully the MD Mini will be enough of a hit that they can work out putting Gradius II on the next one.

They left out so many big games (despite including 40) that they probably could make a second one without much troubl—

I sold every game I owned on the mini aside from gunstar heroes and thunderforce 3 (I just couldn't do it). Most were cib and I got a fair deal out of it. It was just the right moment as I'm a little short on cash this month.

So yeah I'm definitely commited to this now.

Wouldn't any future (expected) retroarch implementations like the Nintendo/Sony Classics got "fix" the lag?

Speaking of interviews, there's a great feature with the staff behind the Mega Drive Mini and also a feature on M2 in this month's Retrogamer
