    Default Beware of eBay scams

These little SD cards are being sold on eBay, and they are NOT 4GB. Sure, they look like one, but once you pass 1GB of data, they start to corrupt.

Why? Because the Samsung flash chip used in them are 1GB only! NOT 4GB!

Post any other scams you are aware of.

I would've been weary when it didn't say SanDisk on top, but this was probably a stock photo item.

I once purchased a 16 MB memory card for my PS2 from top retailer Wal*Mart. The package said 16 MB, the card itself said 16 MB, BUT IT WASN'T 16 MB!!!!! Instead it was 32 MB. Boy was I pissed! I took it back to Wal*Mart and told them that I paid for a 16 MB card and not a 32MB card. If I had wanted a 32 MB card I would have forked over the extra cash for a 32MB card. I slapped the whore who was running the returns counter in the face, but she wouldn't let me exchange it. Now I have twice the space for saves at half the cost and am super angry!

What a touching story Joe. Anyway, who did you buy the item from? Did you ask them if they knew it was defective, and give them negative feedback?

Well you have no right to be angry.

I do though, got screwed. And yes, a stock photo was used, but some auctions use the picture of the one I showed.

Sadly, when I first got the card, I didn't expect it to be like that, and gave positive because it arrived, worked, and formatted. However, MANY people are selling these cards.

Now I learned to always test the card via putting data on it, do an MD5 hash, copy file back, and check that hash. Or better yet, does the file system even work! -_-

Protip: Never trust a stock photo.

And that label looks bootleg all to high hell. I would have never bid on that.
