    Default Nomad Battery Pack

I've a Nomad and need a battery pack. I'm willing to spend the $40ish they usually sell for with bids; I'm not willing to spend the stupid buy it nows currently listed on ebay.
Anyone have one that they want to sell? Please let me know.
    Thanks!
    that is all.

I'm not sure 100% where but somewhere (could be in storage...) I have a AA battery case with a broken catch you could have for postage, [I]if [I] I can find it.

I'll happily throw you some cash if you'll bother trying to find it.

I've been following this guy's experiment on Twitter for a while - powering a Nomad with one of those portable USB phone chargers:

Let me ponder that. I've heard of people replacing the cells to make it work again.
    that is all.

It's not to bad to do, I have done it myself actually with a GG pack.

Making 3D printed replacements would be cool too.

It would be an interesting project to re-fit old battery packs with lithium ion cells, new charging circuitry, and new recharging power connectors. Considering the size of a lot of the old packs, like those for the Game Boy and Game Gear, it wouldn't be outside of the realm of possibility for the packs to have multiple days' play time. I haven't bothered to try due to constant concerns with garbage Chinese battery packs breaking down internally and turning into bombs. It's dangerous enough with something as small and thin as a cell phone battery, but when you have something the size of a burrito going critical, that's deadly.

Yeah, I've been thinking of creating a conversion kit for The Nomad rechargeable battery packs to make them into lithium-ion ones. I've actually designed all the circuitry for it already. I usually repurpose old laptop batteries. That way they were official and much safer than Chinese knock-offs

years ago i sold my "powerbacks" on the ebay for like $30 they had bad cells and were only 1300 mah anyway i also have a lynx and i made a 6 D belt pouch for it back in the day i then added a sony type plug so it would work with the nomad

in this day with eneloops i would suggest buying a strip of self adheasive velcro a 6 aa holder and the plug end

the eneloops charged on a modern individual cell peak charger gives me like 5 hours or more of playtime (i have to use a 6aa pack with them and my lynx cause they get jammed if i put them inside)

make sure and visit my album

Thanks to those that answered, I decided to just go with a game gear battery pack that I did the RC Car battery mod to. Takes forever to charge, but powers the Nomad for 8 hours.
    that is all.
