Blinky New Ghostbusters teaser trailer..may not be what you expect

Yes, this is a sequel to the original films. Why after Harold died I don't know but it's happening at last. Personally, as much as I enjoyed those films I never felt the need for a 3rd and sequels 20/30 years after rarely are good but let's hope it is.

The 2009 game is the third movie, as far as the story and continuity go. Takes place in the early 1990s, shortly after the incident with Vigo, and the Cult of Gozer is seemingly up to some shenanigans.

Everybody get out your snowshoes and mittens and buckle down for the next round of the Ghostbusters 2016 shitstorm. The cries of deliberate sexism have already begun, even though no one has publically been cast in the movie yet.

Personally, I would love to see Chris Pratt as Ray Stantzís son, who has the same gushing exuberance for the paranormal as his father, but not the intelligence or education to do anything with it. Benedict Cumberbatch could be hilarious as an eccentric and humorless genius that Pratt strongarms into helping him.

I would rather see some "nobodies" be cast, so we could expect some acting skill, and less of a wasted budget. I mean, which Judge Dredd movie was best?

Karl Urban and Lena Headey were not nobodies even then. Esp Urban.

There arenít too many modern comedic actors that wouldnít destroy a Ghostbusters movie.

Dan Akroyd and Bill Murray were pretty big names at the time. I THINK one of the roles was originally written for John Candy... not too many names bigger than his.

I think Rick Moranis' part was written for Candy and he suggested Moranis?

Just make it a full blown CGI movie already! hire Maurice LaMarche to voice Egon and just make a movie about that 3rd movie script that Dan Aykroyd wrote years ago.
And if Bill Murray and Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver don't wanna do it then try to hire their likeness and just hire some good voice actors.

Enough with the Peter's son / Ray's nephew / Winston's cousin / Egon's younger clone crap. just. go. full. on. cgi.

Since it hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet:

The director is Jason Reitman, son of Ivan Reitman, who directed the original Ghostbusters (and a bunch of other great 80s comedies). Jason Reitman is best known for Thank You for Smoking (2005) and Juno (2007). I'm not really familiar with his more recent films.

They are basically retconning the 2016 Ghostbusters film and returning to the original universe. Leslie Jones is not amused:

So, it's too early to say anything for sure, but these are promising signs.

The '16 movie was a wast of a treasured franchise and no doubt this '20 one will be too.

Edit: Unless they're going to reboot it again or make a third? Need sometime to sit down read the news on this 2020 movie.

It's a continuation of the original two. The (living) original cast will be returning:

The way these things usually go, they'll probably introduce some new characters to carry the torch in future iterations, although that didn't exactly work with certain other series (Indiana Jones, Star Wars).

Plot twist. It will be based on the 1970s Ghostbusters TV show!

"It's the sort of thing Trump would do..." I like it already! Seriously though, why doesn't this dozy cow, and the millions like her, understand that the 2016 'Ghostbusters' reboot wasn't hated because it had an all female cast, it was hated because it was puerile, infantile and unfunny shite of the highest order.
