    Saturn Policenauts

Hideo Kojima's Snatcher is often hailed as one of the best reasons to buy a Sega CD. A well-received sequel was released on the PlayStation and Saturn but never made it stateside, depriving fans of a great adventure game. Thankfully, it was finally fan-translated a few years back and we can now enjoy what Kojima himself considers the definitive version. Read our full review for more details.

Right before Christmas I ordered Policenauts for 3DO from ebay, and it never arrived. many an email was shared between me and the seller who kept assuring me that it would eventually arrive.
And yesterday, the same day you posted this thread it finally arrived.

Any particular reason why you opted for that version?

Not really, trying to increase my 3DO collection I guess, also bought Snatcher for PCE prior to that so I dunno.. owning games I enjoy I guess?
I mean, in the end we're still playing the translated PSX version so it doesn't really matter if you buy it at all.

All versions are interesting as they've all got differences. The PC-98 version uses 16 colour pixel art, has talking heads like Snatcher, and no subtitles for voiced scenes (annoying), while the 3DO version has some different art compared to the PS1 and Saturn versions (some pieces are more like the original PC-98 art but more colourful). The Saturn version has a translation patch and contains stuff that was cut from the PS1 version, so it's probably the best version to play.

I have the Japanese Saturn version with the booklet. I have not finished it since it's in Japanese but did watch Super Best Friends LP it in English. I'm so addicted to that main theme.

Life!? ... What console is that on?
