Is it really possible to access the CD info through the cart slot?

This thread was first so I guess I'll post here.

    This is awesome.

If only I could afford the $260 price tag.

Currently in the same boat. And also I'd prefer to wait until the first batch of reviews for it come in when it's released.

    BTW,

Default Mega SD: Mega CD on an FPGA cartridge!!!

As the title says, the guys at Terraonion (makers of NeoSD cartridge) have achieved to implement the Mega CD hardware on a cartridge using FPGA technology. It runs ROMs and also bin-cue isos, has save states, and everything needed to play Mega CD games the easiest way possible. It's also kind of expensive. There's a video presentation here:

I definitely want one. Stone Age Gamer will carry them, and are supposed to offer some sort of I assume Mega Everdrive trade-in as well.

What interests me the most is the possibility of having Mega Drive games hacked with CD quality music tracks, just like the SD2SNES/MSU-1 does with the SNES.

Oh yes, oh yes. This brings A LOT of new possibilities.

stupid question : since the sega cd is supposed to have his own power supply, playing a sega cd game by the cartidge port of the megadrive should not create a voltage problem ?

    That sounds very impressive.

I can't afford one, but maybe someone will be willing to trade one for a Saturn Rhea, I have one of those to spare.

It's not a real Sega-CD so it doesn't have the same power requirements.

The Super SD System 3 also runs off the console it's attached to, without an extra psu.
