Shit. Sould have saved the pics of the CDs. It was a bunch of discs with different prototype versions. Said they will be burning them for online dumps.

Just a big warning that it may take a while to get them dumped because they were "wata graded" and this means that drx will be busy trying to unglue that shit first… (going by what was mentioned on Discord, so this is public information :P)

Anything interesting or just 12 different builds of incremental localization changes?

We can't tell exactly what's in there yet (until they get dumped there's no way to know for sure), but it's not "incremental localization changes", they seem to span across the whole development cycle. And the earliest build (which is from 1992) seems to be the one that was showcased on whatever was this:

Wonder if anything from R2 will make an appearance. I am very interested in this.

I wonder why information on this was deleted from pretty much everywhere. I guess it's too soon to talk?

Some remarks if we want to be realistic:

    • As mentioned earlier, the damn things got "wata graded" for some stupid reason, and the damn sealing actually ends up glued to the box, making it nearly impossible to remove without destroying the underlying thing. It can be removed with surgical precision, but it's gonna take quite a while.
    • Also, these are CD-Rs (at least the one I've seen is). CD-Rs in that era weren't particularly… great (see the HD Bomberman one, looks like that one is dead for good). Sega was rather strict about what disc+drive combinations could be used, but don't get your hopes high as it's possible the discs aren't readable anymore. At least Sega's discs are from a different brand than the Bomberman one (Sega sourced their CD-Rs from Yamaha).

Do the boxes have anything on them that need to be preserved? They are just CDRs aren't they?

The problem is opening them without destroying the discs in the process :P (I'm honestly not sure in what state they are)
